A spring cleanup event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in parts of Taylor, Moosic and Old Forge in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania.

The event, organized by state Rep. Sid Michaels Kavulich, D-114, Taylor, is an effort to remove litter and winter debris from roadsides, creeks, riverbanks, parks and recreation areas. Alliance Sanitary Landfill will donate waste containers, transportation and disposal.

Mayors of each borough are recruiting public works and police departments.
